The Art of Arriving
“I am allowed to move at my own pace and still arrive exactly where I’m meant to be.”
For a long time, my world was shaped by what was "logical"—efficiency, external expectations, and the roles I played for everyone else. I love my work and I love my family, but I found myself searching for a space that wasn't built on obligation. I was looking for a community of women like me: women who are tired of being squeezed into a stereotypical box of what a Black woman "should" be.
Sable Works isn't just a brand; it’s a refusal to be one-dimensional.
The Aesthetic: Quiet Confidence Meets Radical Self-Expression
You’ll find the Sable Works aesthetic in the quiet tension between two worlds. It’s what I call Afri-Boho meets Japandi. It is warm minimalism, rich textures, and deep charcoal and oatmeal tones.
We’ve been told for so long that to be seen, we have to be "loud." To be successful, we have to be "busy." To be cultural, we have to be "bold."
But here, we believe in the power of the whisper. You’ll see it reflected in everything we create and a reminder that we can be minimal and still be incredibly rich. Abundance shows up in many ways. We can be goal oriented and deeply soulful. We can be still, and still be powerful.
Moving at My Own Pace
This month’s affirmation—“I am allowed to move at my own pace and still arrive exactly where I’m meant to be”—is the heartbeat of this launch.
Establishing Sable Works as an artisan brand and a community didn’t happen overnight because the best things rarely do. It required a "radical" amount of patience to build a place that feels like home for the woman who is "Moisturized & Unbothered."
Whether you’re here for the collection or just to catch a vibe in The Lounge, I hope you feel that same permission. You aren't "behind." You aren't "too much" or "not enough." You are exactly on time.
